Frequently Asked Questions — September
September is outstanding for this trek. After July–August monsoon, the trail is refreshed — meadows are intensely green, waterfalls are dramatic, and the post-rain clarity gives you exceptional views from the 4,342m pass.
The Dharamshala region sees declining rainfall from mid-September. The first week of September may still have occasional showers, but by September 10–15, conditions are typically excellent. Early September adds a dramatic, lush character to the trek.
Crowds are very manageable in September. The Triund summit (a day-hike destination) gets some day-visitors, but full-pass trekkers heading to Lahesh Cave and beyond are fewer. You'll rarely share a campsite with more than 2–3 other groups.
