Frequently Asked Questions — September
Absolutely — September offers a completely different and equally spectacular version of the trek. The gorge is lush green, the upper meadows are vibrant with late-season wildflowers, the views from the pass are crystal clear, and Sangla during apple harvest is magical.
Without snow bridges, the river crossings become more straightforward boulder-hops, and the pass approach is rocky rather than icy. In some ways September is technically simpler — no crampon use required — though the trail demands strong legs over 9 days regardless.
The last 10 days of September (20–30) are ideal — the monsoon has fully cleared, temperatures are comfortable, and the views are at their clearest. Early September can still have residual showers on the lower gorge trail.
