What Travelers Say
From the Taj Mahal at dawn to Kedarnath at 11,000 feet — this trip showed me more of India in 12 days than I could have imagined. The guide was extraordinary.
The dawn puja at Kedarnath was one of the most moving experiences of my life. I'm not religious, but standing in a 7th-century stone temple as the priests chant at 5 AM — it gets you.
Perfectly organised. The Taj Mahal guide was superb — told us things no guidebook mentions. Everything flowed seamlessly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Kedarnath trek hard?▾
It's 16 km uphill with 5,000 ft elevation gain — the hardest physical day of this package. However, ponies and helicopters are available as alternatives. Good fitness and acclimatization on Day 5 make it manageable for most travelers.
When is Kedarnath Temple open?▾
Kedarnath Temple opens in late April/early May and closes in November (exact dates follow the Hindu calendar). Best visiting period: May-June and September-October. July-August is monsoon — trek is open but wet.
Can I see the Taj Mahal on the same trip as Kedarnath?▾
Yes — this package is specifically designed to combine both. You see the Taj Mahal on Day 2 en route to Rishikesh, then do the Kedarnath pilgrimage on Days 6-7.
Is this a religious trip or can non-Hindus visit Kedarnath?▾
Non-Hindus are warmly welcomed at Kedarnath. The temple is open to all. Many international travelers describe it as a deeply moving spiritual experience regardless of their own faith.
