About This Tour

For the devoted pilgrim who wants to go beyond the standard Char Dham circuit, the Char Dham with Tungnath package adds a visit to Tungnath — the highest of the Panch Kedar and the world's highest Shiva temple at 3,680 metres — to the complete four-dham circuit. Spanning 11 days, this is the most comprehensive Uttarakhand pilgrimage package offered by Junegiri Yatra.

The itinerary covers all four Char Dhams (Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, Badrinath) plus a day trek to Tungnath from Chopta, which lies conveniently on the route between Kedarnath and Badrinath. This package is ideal for pilgrims who have done Char Dham before and want to include Tungnath, or for those who want the most complete Garhwal pilgrimage experience in a single trip.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Your Char Dham Yatra with Junegiri Yatra begins with an early morning departure from Haridwar. The drive winds through the foothills of the Himalayas, past Dehradun and along the verdant Yamuna Valley, gradually gaining elevation as you head toward Barkot — a quiet mountain town and the base for Yamunotri. The journey itself is a sensory treat: rolling green ridges, crisp mountain air, and the sound of rivers below. Arrive at Barkot by evening, check in to your hotel, and rest ahead of the next day's trek.

What Travelers Say

★★★★★
The Tungnath addition made this yatra extra special. Standing at 3,680m in the Shiva temple with the peaks all around — nothing beats it.

Varanasi

This 11-day circuit adds Chopta (Tungnath base) between Kedarnath and Badrinath — a natural stop since Chopta lies on the Rudraprayag–Gopeshwar road connecting the two dhams. Chopta is 80 km from Sonprayag and 130 km from Badrinath. Register at chartham.uk.gov.in before departure — biometric registration mandatory.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yamunotri and Gangotri open on Akshaya Tritiya (late April/May); Kedarnath opens on Shiv Panchami; Badrinath a few days after Kedarnath. All close in October/November for winter.

Yes. The Tungnath temple darshan itself is the main objective. Chandrashila (1.5 km above Tungnath) is optional and adds about 2 hours.
