Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri happens every evening at sunset (around 6-7 PM in winter, 7-8 PM in summer). The October–March period offers the most atmospheric Aarti with cool evenings, clear skies, and moderate crowds. Arrive 30 minutes early for a good viewing spot.

Kanwar Yatra falls during the Hindu month of Shravan (July–August). Millions of Shiva devotees (Kanwariyas) walk to Haridwar to collect Ganga water. The city becomes extremely crowded — accommodation triples in price and traffic is severely restricted. Plan around this period unless you specifically want to witness it.

Yes, Haridwar is open year-round. Unlike mountain destinations, monsoon does not cut off Haridwar. However, the Ganga runs high and fast — bathing is restricted to designated safe areas at Har Ki Pauri. The city remains fully functional for pilgrimage and tourism.
