Drive 75 km to Cochin International Airport (COK) and fly to Dehradun via Hyderabad — about 3 hrs total flying time. Then drive 1 hr to Haridwar. Alternatively, board the Kerala Express from Thrissur (TCR) for a 38–40 hr train journey.
May–June and September–October are ideal. The Thrissur Pooram is in April–May, so many families complete Pooram celebrations and then depart for Char Dham in late May. September–October is excellent for clear mountain views.
The Char Dham route is primarily North Indian vegetarian cuisine. We request rice-based meals wherever available for our Kerala guests. Haridwar itself has several South Indian restaurants near Har Ki Pauri.
