How to Plan a 2-Week India Trip

Two weeks — 14 days — is the sweet spot for a first India trip. Long enough to move beyond surface impressions, short enough to stay energised. North India (Delhi, the Golden Triangle, Varanasi, Rishikesh, the Himalayas) is the classic starting point: world heritage sites, spiritual depth, adventure, and extraordinary landscapes — all within a 700 km radius.

This itinerary is designed for first-time international visitors who want to experience India at its most iconic without spending two weeks on a bus. We use short domestic flights where they save significant time, and private vehicles with drivers throughout.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — 14 days is the ideal duration for a first North India trip. You can cover the Golden Triangle (Delhi, Agra, Jaipur), Varanasi, Rishikesh, and a Himalayan destination (Kedarnath or Mussoorie) without rushing. For a deeper experience of any single region, 10 days focused on Uttarakhand or 10 days on the Golden Triangle + Rajasthan would be equally rewarding.

For first-time visitors, yes. A reputable operator handles airport transfers, hotel bookings, guides, permits, vehicle hire, and on-ground logistics — eliminating planning stress and reducing the risk of common tourist pitfalls. Independent travel is absolutely possible in India but requires significant research and flexibility for unexpected situations.

October–March for the Golden Triangle and city travel (cool, dry, clear). Kedarnath Yatra is only possible May–November (temple closed December–April). A September–October trip hits both windows: Kedarnath still open, Golden Triangle weather ideal. This is our busiest and most popular booking window.

Private tours are available for solo travellers, couples, and groups. Costs per person decrease as group size increases — a couple sharing a private vehicle and room pays roughly 40% less per person than a solo traveller. Families of 4 get the best value. Minimum booking: 1 person.

Absolutely. This is a suggested framework — every itinerary we build is custom. Skip Varanasi and spend more time in Rishikesh. Add Valley of Flowers instead of Kedarnath. Extend Jaipur with a Pushkar day trip. Drop Agra and add Mathura-Vrindavan. WhatsApp us your preferences and we design around them.
