Pin Parvati Pass Trek (10N/11D) is India's most demanding and spectacular crossover trek, connecting the lush Parvati Valley (Himachal Pradesh) to the austere Spiti cold desert via a 5,319m glacier pass. The trek season is narrow — July, August, and early September only. August is the prime month with the most stable glacier conditions and highest summit success rate.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Three factors: the 10-11 day duration with 8+ days completely off-grid with no road access or mobile network; the mandatory technical glacier crossing requiring crampons, ice axe, and rope; and the extreme remoteness — evacuation in an emergency takes 2+ days. It demands prior expedition experience, not just fitness.
August is the optimal month. The Parvati Valley side is clearing from monsoon while the Spiti/Pin Valley side is under its rain shadow, giving clear skies on exit. Glacier crevasses are mapped from the season, snow bridges are thinning, and the overall risk profile is at its lowest.
From Delhi, take an overnight bus to Bhuntar (Kullu Airport area), then a local bus or taxi to Kasol (5 hours). From Kasol, trek or drive to Barshaini, then trek 12km to Kheerganga (4–5 hours). Kheerganga has natural hot springs — a perfect warm-up before 11 days of remote wilderness.
