Mussoorie, the Queen of Hills at 2,005 m, is a year-round hill station but excels in spring (March–June) and post-monsoon (September–November). Summer is ideal for escaping Delhi heat. January–February brings snowfall. July–August monsoon brings dense fog and leeches — the least appealing time to visit.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Mussoorie receives snowfall most winters, typically in January and February, but it's not guaranteed every year. Heavy snowfall occurs 2–4 times per season, with lighter dustings more frequently. Snowfall forecasts can be checked 4–5 days ahead — many visitors time their trips around forecast snowfall.
Lal Tibba, Mussoorie's highest point at 2,275 m, offers the best 360° Himalayan views including Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Bandarpoonch peaks. October and November give the clearest views after monsoon. Sunrise visits are recommended as haze builds through the day.
Visit on weekdays rather than weekends. Avoid May and June peak school holidays. March–April and October–November offer the best balance of good weather and manageable tourist density. Staying in the Landour area (above Mall Road) also gives a quieter, more authentic Mussoorie experience.
