Dehradun Shatabdi (12017) from New Delhi station reaches Haridwar in 4.5 hrs — the most popular option. By road: NH58 via Meerut–Muzaffarnagar, ~220 km, 5 hrs. By flight: Delhi to Dehradun in 55 min, then 1 hr cab to Haridwar. Train is most convenient.
Dehradun Shatabdi (12017), Jan Shatabdi (12055), Mussoorie Express (14041), and several other trains stop at Haridwar. The Shatabdi from New Delhi leaves at 6:50 AM and arrives Haridwar by 11:30 AM — ideal for same-day Yatra start.
